Max Bid is a feature that lets you set the highest amount you're willing to bid for an item, so you never miss out, even if you're not watching the auction live.
Once you've set your Max Bid, our system will automatically place bids on your behalf whenever you're outbid, increasing only by the minimum amount required to keep you in the lead up to your set maximum.
The value of each automatic bid depends on the current bid increment. You’ll find the full increment table below.
Here’s an example:
Let’s say a shirt is currently at €100. You place a Max Bid of €1,000.
- If another bidder jumps to €150, we’ll automatically raise your bid to €160 (the next minimum increment).
- If they then go to €170, we’ll go to €180.
- And so on, until your €1,000 limit is reached.
It’s the smartest way to stay in the race without having to follow the auction around the clock.
